As the summer season comes to a close, we’re all looking forward to the fall and the upcoming holiday season. And with the holiday season comes an opportunity to take a family vacation.

But before you can start planning your next family vacation, you need to figure out where to go. With so many different places to choose, it can be hard to decide which one is best for your family.

On the other hand, when deciding where to visit, you have to consider the weather, the food, and the entertainment options, one of which is amusement parks. Alas, that’s why we’ve compiled a list of America’s top 7 amusement parks to help you plan the perfect vacation for you and your family!

There are so many amusement parks in the country that it can be challenging to narrow them down to just the top seven. However, we’ve done the work for you and have come up with a list of the top seven amusement parks in the US of A.

Let's get started!

1. Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, located in Arlington, TX, is a great destination for friends and families to make memories! If you've never been here, then we definitely recommend visiting especially if you've just been to another Six Flags.

At Six Flags Over Texas, every ride experience is thrilling and they have something for everyone. This amusement park is well-maintained, sanitized, neat, and clean. All safety measures are also followed, which is why you can rest easy knowing that you, your family, and your friends are safe.

2. Cedar Point

Rides for all ages, fun for the family, and many roller coasters -- that's just some of the things you will experience at Cedar Point. Cedar Point is a theme park in Sandusky, OH that offers thrilling rides for all ages.

Cedar Point offers thrilling rides for all ages. Many people visit this park because it offers plenty of rides for families as well as thrill seekers.

We've also featured this amusement park in another blog post where we listed the top reasons why you should travel to Ohio. Make sure to check that out!

3. Walt Disney World Resort

You're always going to have a good time going to Disney. If you are planning to visit a Disneyland resort, you have to check out this park. It has lots of rides and attractions that you can't find anywhere else.

Disneyland Park is a theme park located in Orlando, FL, and it is one of the top five largest tourist attractions in the United States. It's approximately 25,000 acres big and is comprised of four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.

This is the place where the imagination runs free. Plus, meeting the Disney characters is a wonderful experience. For sure, you'll have the best time here.

4. Universal Studios Hollywood

If you're looking for an amusement park that always reinvents itself, Universal Studios is the place for you. Compared to other theme parks, the people that work here are very good at making sure everything stays organized and moves quickly. Customer service is also outstanding, if not exceptional, and everyone is friendly.

It’s important to note that, unlike the other Universal Studios, this one has a huge lot tour where you’re able to see different sound stages and behind-the-scenes sets. Due to this, they have fewer thrilling rides compared to other locations. Nevertheless, the overall feel is awesome to walk around and enjoy.

5. Knott's Berry Farm

BERRY. SO. MUCH. BERRY. This is because this park sits on the site of a former berry farm. If you love fruit, especially berries, this will literally be a paradise for you. This is undoubtedly one of the best theme parks in California, and once you step inside this place, you'll definitely see why people say that.

The ambiance at Knott's Berry Farm is very welcoming and fresh, and the aesthetic is so colorful and inviting. The theme park as a whole utilizes the berry theme very well throughout its entirety. The food is also good and surprisingly diverse despite a good amount of the selections revolving around boysenberry.

6. Hersheypark

Hersheypark is a really nice park that you and your family can enjoy. Located in Hershey, PA, this park offers loads of fun and crazy activities.

The Hershey Chocolate park is also a great place for chocolate lovers. There, you'll see the actual process of chocolate making. You can enjoy the aroma of the chocolate-making machines and the sweet smell of the finished chocolate products. This is really a cool place to go with kids.

For many, you need at least three days just to cover all of their rides and attractions. If you're going with some people who love intense rides and some who appreciate the smaller, simpler rides, you'll love that there's something for everyone at Hersheypark.

7. SeaWorld Orlando

Last but not the least, SeaWorld Orlando is another great option for family entertainment. This place is a half theme park and half aquarium, so it offers both fun and learning.

The shows here are very good. Dolphins, Killer Whales, and Sea Lion shows are very informative and action-packed. We recommend getting to the shows at least thirty minutes before start time to get a decent seat. Also, eat big before you head into the park and give yourself some time before hunger sets in.

SeaWorld is the best place to get up close to marine life you would otherwise never see in real life. One of the coolest exhibits here is the penguin experience -- they are the cutest, and you'll definitely be tempted to snatch up one and take it home with you!

Conclusion

Amusement parks are where you can spend time with your friends and family while having a great time. Although amusement parks certainly can't dictate your holiday destination, knowing which ones are worth visiting for you and your family can be helpful.
