Angel of Shavano Campground, Salida

It’s a shame that the natural beauty of this place is often overlooked. Angel of Shavano campground is kept unturned, almost like there's no human activity in the area. The area is small and intimate, perfect for those who are looking for a peaceful retreat.

When you visit this place, we recommend that you get a spot along the creek – the sound is exquisite! The trails leading to this place will remind you of the magical scenery that we sometimes take for granted.

Bear Lake Campground, Yampa

Bear Lake Campground's seclusion is unmatched.

If you enjoy seclusion and privacy, this is the perfect place for you. Bear Lake Campground is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning views and greenery. It’s never crowded, always clean, and very quiet.

The drive to the campground is mostly paved, but the last couple of miles is very rough. Make sure to arrive early because they don't accept reservations. The sites have good separation between them and most of them are really good. Make sure to bring bug spray though because the mosquitoes can be quite brutal!

May Queen Campground, Turquoise Lake

Experience the best of camping in the great outdoors at May Queen Campground. This campground has plenty of sites and is open for public use. Not only does it have breathtaking views that will mesmerize you, but it also has a host of facilities for your comfort. These include campfire rings, picnic tables, vault toilets, and more!

Situated at an elevation of 9.900 feet near Turquoise Lake, this place is home to many species of fish. Your trip to this place would be even better if you can bring a boat to the lake!

Moraine Park Campground, Estes Park

Being inside Rocky Mountains National Park is what makes this place special. The campsites are well-arranged and you can easily find your spot. In addition, this place is extra quiet and the visitors are respectful of each other's privacy.

All the basic campground facilities are available except power, so make sure to be prepared for that. You'll love looking up at the millions of stars in the sky and hearing animals off in the distance. Also, dining with deer passing by is just unforgettable.

Oh Be Joyful Campground, Crested Butte

Oh Be Joyful campground is a great base camp for outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, and backpacking. It's only 15 minutes drive to town, which makes it super convenient and accessible.

No need to drive anywhere for a good hike -- there are a bunch of trails that start at the campground. The campsites are by the river and are large enough to hold a big tent, so you'll have plenty of space to share with your family and friends. The water, aside from being clean and crisp, has so much new growth around the campsite. You might want a high clearance vehicle if you want to ford the river though.

Piñon Flats Campground, Great Sand Dunes National Park

Visit Piñon Flats Campground and enjoy the dunes!

Overlooking the Dunes, Piñon Flats Campground is a very well taken care of campground with multiple sites that packs some amazing views!

The sites are large, and while you can see all the neighboring sites, it's still pretty spread out with plenty of space. This place is far away from busy roads, so you'll find yourself in peace and quiet. It also has a tiny store where you can buy ice, wood, or other stuff you may have forgotten.

Pearl Lake Campgrounds, Clark

At an elevation of 8,100 feet, Pearl Lake Campground is a favorite in Colorado. Thirty-seven single-family campsites are among the most beautiful in the state, and the lake is perfect for paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing.

This place is incredibly gorgeous with tons of lakeside camping spots. The no-wake lake also has plenty of shorelines, thus making it a great place for fishing. The beautiful views of Hahns Peak serve as a beautiful backdrop for your campsite. Add to this the flush toilets and real sinks, and you have a perfect spot for a getaway.

Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountain Campground, Granby

Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountain Campground is absolutely a must for families. The kids will surely love experiencing tiny home living, as well as the gaming area, bowling alley, and a large park and pool.

Now, this campground is a little bit different from the others on this list because it offers unique glamping experiences. Nonetheless, this is the perfect spot to set up camp no matter the adventures you have planned.

Teal Campground, Pagosa Springs

Tucked in the mountains, Teal Campground offers stunning views and peaceful surroundings. You'll find excellent hiking trails in every direction, and most campsites have lake views. Add to this the breathtaking mountains and valleys, and you have a campground that is worth every penny. They even have book exchanges in the restrooms!

This place is in a supremely scenic location, with exceptional views of the Williams Reservoir. We also recommend that you check the Piedra River Trail. It's amazing! But if you are interested in loud or unruly activities, then Teal Campground is not the place for you.
