It's that time of year again! April Fools' Day is just two days away, and that means it's time to start thinking about pranks that you'll be able to pull on your friends and family.

If our previous post isn't enough and you're still looking for more inspiration, look no further than your favorite television shows and movies. Some of the best pranks come from these sources.

In no particular order, here are some of the best pranks from our favorite television shows. Hopefully, they'll give you some ideas for your own April Fools' Day pranks!

Jim Impersonates Dwight, The Office

Jim may be a dorky, over-the-top character on the television show The Office, but that doesn't mean he can't pull some good pranks. Actually, all of the characters are pretty good at pulling pranks, but Jim is probably the most inventive prankster of all time.

In the season 3 episode "Product Recall", Jim pulls off the most classic prank ever: he impersonates Dwight. For a grand total of eleven dollars, Jim imitates Dwight's appearance and speaking style.

Of course, Dwight tries to return the prank, but he isn't good enough at mimicking Jim's way of talking. In the end, Jim screams "Michael!" and runs to his office, effectively imitating what Dwight is about to do.

Jiggly Ball Prank, Scrubs

No one wants to feel left out, and this is what this prank of the Janitor from Scrubs is all about. As an unproductive custodian and handyman, the Janitor always spends his time thinking about how to pull a prank on J.D., one of the doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital. Nevertheless, the Jiggly Ball Prank easily takes the cake.

With a well-thought plan and the help of the staff, the Janitor convinced J.D. about a non-existent game called Jiggly Ball. Rather than admitting that he doesn't know what Jiggly Ball is, J.D. feigns expertise and keeps up his appearances.

The brilliance of this prank isn't about the culminating scene where J.D. got pummeled by tennis balls due to his reluctance to admit ignorance, but rather from the fact that the Janitor knows very well how J.D. thinks. That, my friends, is how you effectively prank someone.

As a bonus trivia, the Janitor's name is confirmed by the series creator as Glen Matthews!

Stapler in Jell-O, The Office

Do you think Jim's entry into the best pranks list is going to be limited to one? Think again! Jim is one of the greatest pranksters in the history of television, and it's only fitting and proper that he has multiple entries on this list.

While trying to grab some photos of his car, Dwight is surprised to learn that his stapler is encased in Jell-O. This makes him furious, and he starts to accuse Jim of being the culprit.

Jim, being innocent and all, denies his guilt and asks Dwight why he thinks it's him--while eating a Jell-O!

Dwight demands that Michael discipline Jim, especially because this is the third time that he did this. Eventually, it falls and deaf ears as Jim and Ryan distract Michael by making dessert puns.

This prank of Jim is special, considering that this is his first prank in The Office. Although not his most elaborate or most creative, this prank only goes to show that Jim is consistent in being a thorn to Dwight!

Here's the British version, to soak things up. Wild how the US version of the office in season 1 is like a straight up 1 to 1 copy of the British version.

Reverse Prank, The Big Bang Theory

In this reverse prank, Sheldon tries to pull one on Howard but got a taste of his own medicine instead!

Sheldon intends to do a wholesome, handshake buzzer prank, so he visited Howard. Upon arriving at Howard's house, Sheldon discovers that Howard is with his fiancé, Bernadette.

As we all know, Sheldon wants to shake Howard's hand to carry out his prank. And after a few attempts, Sheldon succeeded, making Howard collapse on the floor while shaking.

Unfortunately, it seems that Howard is greatly affected by the shock brought by Sheldon. Howard continues to twitch and suddenly stops. Bernadette immediately runs inside and gets a huge syringe.

She told Sheldon that he needs to administer an adrenaline shot to Howard's heart. After hesitating, Sheldon eventually does it--and got surprised when Howard wakes up while saying "Trick or treat!" Sheldon can't believe he got reverse pranked and facepalms himself, getting stung by his own buzzer in the process.

This prank has a special place in the prank pantheon because it's a great example of how a prank can be pulled off in reverse.

Mega-desk and Quad Desk Prank, The Office

Another great Jim prank, but this one is in response to Dwight's "mega-desk".

Jim goes to the office to find Dwight with a huge L-shape desk that takes a lot of space. Dwight even had the gall to explain to Jim what the desk is for. "Command central, a little surveillance, gaming, and business," Dwight said. Jim responds by moving the side of the desk away from Dwight.

Dwight explains to the camera that having a mega-desk is addictive and how he intends to continue to have it.

In the next scene, Dwight begs Jim not to take away the mega-desk, but he doesn't listen and continues to throw away the things on the table.

The morning after, Dwight arrives at the office and gets a surprise: Jim constructed his own version of mega-desk, which he calls the "quad-desk"!

This is also an example of a reverse prank, although we can say that Dwight's only intention is to have a bigger desk and a wider space. What we can agree on though is that Jim's payback is intentional and much sweeter. In your face, Dwight!

Conclusion

No matter what kind of prank you're looking for, there's a TV show out there that's sure to have it! From classic sitcoms to serious dramas, a multitude of shows has left us with some of the best pranks ever seen.

Sure, the majority of the ones we've listed here are from The Office (3 out of 5, to be specific), but hey, April Fools' is just around the corner, so the joke's on you!
