Typically, the Halloween season is an open invitation to a costume contest. It is why Halloween is one of the most looked forward to holidays all year long. You must learn some simple Halloween costume ideas if you want to stand out from the crowd.

Here are a few Halloween costumes you can try:

Gumball Machine Costume

All you need for this extraordinarily simple and easy Halloween costume is a white t-shirt, a Sharpie, and some colored pom-poms. Don't worry if you don't have any colored pom-poms on hand. For only a few dollars, you can buy them at almost any department store! Simply draw the outline of a gumball machine, a circle, and a base. Then attach the colored pom-poms to the inside of the circle to make a gumball machine costume. Voila! Your child will adore the cute, affordable, and simple costume you have.

Mummy Costume

It's a classic for a reason, and one of those reasons is that doing it is so ridiculously simple. Simply dress in white, and wrap white gauze or toilet paper entirely around your body. You're not even required to be tidy about it!

Cat Costume

This is the perfect opportunity to express your love for your adorable little cat. All you need to complete this timeless look are some gloves, shoes, pants, and a black top. To finish the look, you can also buy a tutu or DIY cut ears. You can use cat-eared headbands and natural, authentic cat colors for your child.

Pooh-Bear Costume

Who among us as children did not simply adore Pooh-Bear and all of his friends, including Piggy, Eeyore, Tigger, and Christopher Robin? Guess what, though? You're in luck because creating a Pooh Bear Halloween costume for a baby or toddler is incredibly easy! All you need is a red T-shirt, a yellow onesie, and some black nose makeup. Add yellow accessories, such as a hat, ears, socks, or booties, if you want to embody the character further. The cutest bear on the block will be your child!

Walking Bathtub Costume

Another great Halloween costume that doesn't cost much is the walking bathtub costume. You can purchase some tiny white balloons and stick them up with some cotton to create this inventive costume. Your kid is all set for the Halloween party if you give him a shower cap and some yellow duck toys.

Winx Club Costume

For you and your BFFs, this may be the best simple Halloween costume. Here's what to do based on the original animated series. Transform to Flora, Stella, Bloom, Musa, and Tecna by wearing a dress or top and bottom set in your favorite color (pink, orange, blue, red, or purple). Along with some sparkly fairy wings. Not only will your group be able to locate one another throughout the night, but flying home will cost less than taking an Uber.

Mario Kart Costume

Both your best friends and your worst enemies can fit into this last-minute Halloween costume. Go-karts are simple to construct using cardboard, glue, string, and paint; all left to add are a fake mustache and a hat. And a brightly colored tee to indicate which character you are.

Beer Costume

The other trick-or-treaters will be envious of this costume at this costume's hopping coolness. The best part is that you can dress however you want underneath. Brown and white balloons, some string, and a lot of perseverance are required. Another option to avoid a lung workout is a balloon pump. When your balloons are the right size, tie them together in pairs and shape them into a beer glass by wrapping a long string around the ties. By securing the balloons to the front of a pair of overalls, you can make this costume more wearable.

Care Bears Costume

Undoubtedly, wearing a furry onesie is nice. For a quick and simple Halloween costume, however, all you require is a white T-shirt with a painted heart on it, some paint for your nose, and a headband with bear ears. Then, hugs for everyone!

Shrek Costume

Grab a pillow to put under your white T-shirt and the "inside-only" clothing you've been wearing for ages for Shrek. Princess Fiona has a bit more of a look, but the ogre ears are what really tie these outfits together. These characters from our favorite animated film will come to life with the help of a few headbands, green pipe cleaners, glue, and lime-green felt cutouts. Although green face paint is optional, it elevates your ogre appearance to an elite level.

Pirate Costume

You'll want to steal this brilliant idea because it's so rich with potential. You can become a sailor of the high seas by wrapping a bandana around your head and donning smudged eyeliner. Ahoy, matey!

Ghost Costume

For a ghost costume, similar to a mummy costume, all you need is a white outfit and some accents to go with it. The eyes and mouth could easily be made out of black felt or construction paper. Simply cut out the shapes, then sew them to the shirt! It's not advisable to recreate a ghost costume using a white sheet with holes cut out for the eyes and mouth. The risk of tripping or running into objects increases when wearing a face-covering outfit that limits vision.

Mario and Luigi Costume

They are probably characters you are familiar with if you were a kid who played video games. For many years, people have dressed as Mario and Luigi for Halloween. The best part? The outfit is effortless to recreate! A green or red tee and a hat that matches it. Some blue overalls and paper details for the "M" or "L" on the hat and the mustache are all you need. White gloves can be added for extra credit, but they are by no means required.

Avocado Toast Costume

Create this avocado toast couples costume! Begin your designs by cutting foam board or cardboard into the shapes of your preferred avocado toast toppings and then decorating them with craft paint. Make it an adult-only costume, or involve the entire family.

Conclusion

There's no need to stress if you forget about Halloween or if life gets in the way. Halloween costumes that are made at the last minute are just as adorable and fun. Happy trick-or-treating, and good luck!
