“With amusement parks, entertainmentcenters, bowling, trampoline parks, puzzles and brain development, entertainment, and skiing, the Utah GetOutPass has you covered for all your familyfun.”
You know what I love aboutliving in Utah? It’s an incredibly fun place to be. There isn’t anything youcan’t do here. You wanna go to a lake? Covered. Wanna ski in the winter? Debatablynot a better place to be than Utah. You want wholesome, family fun at everycorner? CHECK. You want an absurd amount of chocolate milk varieties? Everything’shere! There’s almost literally nothing you can’t do in Utah, especially withall your friends and family. Let’s go through some of what the Utah GetOutPassoffers to you.
Amusement Parks
Lagoon is one of our favoritethings to do in the state. Have you been? If you haven’t, you just HAVE to gosometime soon. You’ve probably seen it a dozen times when you drive near SaltLake City. I’ll admit, the park does look a little small, and I’m from Ohio, which is arguably the king of amusement parks in this the United States ofAmerica. However, I will be the first to admit that Lagoon has won me over whenI finally went after living here for 9 years last summer.
The rides are awesome. Theyreally are. I consider myself quite the roller coaster connoisseur. They haverides that go so far downhill that it starts to go inwards towards itself. Isn’tthat nuts?? I’ve never seen a roller coaster ride do that before. Their food istop notch—I’m a sucker for anything German, so their Biergarten got me veryexcited. Games, food, and extra rides you can pay for are all great. It’sdefinitely somewhere you need to find yourself before the season ends. Pro tip:If you’re not a fan of the hot weather, wait until September/October for theirspooky themed park! It’s cooler weather, rides are open, and it’s good timesall around.
Entertainment Centers
It’s hard to beat some of thebest two entertainment centers found from Provo to Salt Lake City: Provo Beachand Fat Cats. One of our own visited Fat Cats for the first time, and she hadher mind blown with everything there. What I enjoy most about visitingentertainment centers is that you quickly get your money’s worth. There’s somuch to do at a great price. Provo Beach has the famous Flowrider, one of thosewave thingies where you stand on a board with a current of water going againstyou so you can essentially surf without moving. It’s like a water treadmill, but on a wakeboard. It’s one of those things that you would find on a cruiseship. It’s SUPER fun, even if you suck at surfing, like I do.
Fat Cats has multiple locationshere in Utah and is consistently excellent. They’ve got you covered withbowling, VR, movies, arcades, mini golf, and way better food than I can explainon paper. The employees are nice and the facilities are clean. The times aregood. Plus, they have Warheads, which you can buy with tickets. Go to the arcades, get tickets, stock up on candy, go see a movie!
Trampoline parks
One of my most favorite thingsto do on the Utah GetOutPass is to visit a trampoline park. I was a diver whenI was a kid, so I learned to get comfortable with flips at a younger age. It’sreally fun to go with my friends that aren’t so comfortable on a trampoline asthey learn to bounce a little higher and trust the ocean of foam pits to breaktheir falls.
Two places that come to mindthat you should visit on the GetOutPass is Lowe’s Extreme Airsports and JumpZone. I used to go to Lowe’s all the time when I was living in Provo. It’s gota ninja course that you can go through at your own pace to see how you’d holdup if you were thrown into one. There’s dozens of trampolines and tumbling pads.People there are very helpful, from the employees to the 12-year-olds that canout-flip me in every way possible. Everyone wants to see you get better andhave fun!
Art/Brain Building
While it’s good to get outand do some intentional (or unintentional) exercise, the brain and the creativeside is something you shouldn’t ignore. Even if you consider yourself not onefor artsy things, there are some attractions on the GetOutPass you should atleast try before you call it quits on fingerpainting forever. Go exploreyour architect side at Bricks and Minifigs and show your little one how toproperly build the foundation to the 300-piece skyscraper they’re making. Headon over to Hands on Art 4 Everyone or Pintsize Picassos to see just how greatof an artist you can become. Remember, the message in Green Eggs and Ham was totry new things. You might be surprised what you like!
Entertainment
If you’re itching to get somegreat family fun but don’t feel like moving around or trying to be creative, you’ll want to check out the venues we have partnered on the pass. One of themis Improv Broadway found in Provo. I’ve been there at least a dozen times, andmy goodness, you can’t find such hilarious and clean comedy anywhere else.Perhaps I’m slightly biased because my brother often performs there, but he andeveryone else on stage are so funny it hurts. You simply must go attend a showsoon.
If you’re looking for amusical night out, check out the Cherry Peak Summer Concert Series. They’ve gotsome awesome shows lined up, and you won’t want to miss out on a great time ata great place with great music.
Skiing
Does Utah have the best snowin the world? I’ve seen hundreds of license plates that would answer YES tothat foolish question. Brighton is a big crowd favorite here, as it caters tothe two skiing crowds: beginners and experts that could probably compete in anyupcoming Olympics. It doesn’t matter where you found yourself on the ski expertise—youare welcome at Brighton, and they’ll be excited to have you. Speaking of ourmusical friends up above, Cherry Peak has a mountain range as well. That’s twoski resorts in one pass!
Regardless of what yourinterests are or where your hobbies lie, the GetOutPass is made for everyone toget an awesome taste of every single flavor of ice cream. You may find yourselfquite the skier but never knew it. Maybe your child is super good at bowlingand they haven’t found their love for it yet. The sky is the limit, my friend!Treat yourself and get out of the house.
