This 5-mile hike is moderate in difficulty, but the reward of reaching this beautiful natural formation will be worth every step. The trail begins with loose sand which quickly transitions to hard sandstone as you near the site, surrounded by towering reddish buttes.

The Wave itself is a spectacular sight; narrow funnels of eroded sandstone form intersecting formations that will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped onto a different planet. Take in the breathtaking beauty of nature and the peace that comes with being outdoors as you explore this remarkable area. But be sure to plan ahead; this area is only open to 20 people per day, so getting a permit can be difficult! Weekdays are usually less crowded than weekends, and thus offer more chances for obtaining a permit.
