Summer and warm weather are here, meaning families will be heading out to enjoy the sun and have fun. They could be planning vacations or days at the beach or simply trying to figure out how to get through some hot days they know are coming.

Summer is also seen as a time to reinvent oneself, with a new haircut being the best way to do so.

Summer Hairstyles For Women

Summer hairstyles are all about light, fun, and breezy styles that can be done in a flash and won't make you sweat when the temperatures rise. This summer, the cool-girl looks to imitate include bangs, layers, shags, and more.

Asymmetric Bob

An asymmetric cut, whether bob or lob, adds mystery and chicness to any hairstyle. This look is timeless. A perfectly soft appearance is achieved by cutting the hair straight across the shoulders, framing the jawline and emphasizing your best feature.

Buzzed

There is no better time to try a buzzed cut in the sweltering summer. A buzzed cut might be the ideal style for you if having a sweaty neck and forehead doesn't fit your vibe. This look suits all textures and face shape beautifully. Additionally, this requires no styling, which is a dream come true if you're a lazy hairdresser.

Pixie

This look is always in style, but we love it on wavy and curly hair right now. A pixie cut is a sassy look that is light and youthful. Adding texture and volume gives this already desirable cut a whole new dimension.

Wispy Bangs

In the last few years, bangs have taken over the world of hair, and they won't be going anywhere anytime soon. This style suits all hair textures but looks especially good on fine/thin hair and curls. Use a blow dryer and a round brush to shape and secure your hair when styling.

Choppy Shag

This look is for all the cool girls who don't mind taking a chance, combining wispy bangs and layers into one. This cut has been making a comeback for a while. Still, we're going to see it become a bit more popular this year, so if you want to join the trend before it becomes too popular, now is the time to do so.

Getting your hair cut this summer is perfect for reinventing yourself, but it’s not required. Here are some stylish hairstyles you can try without the need to cut your hair:

Space Buns

Space buns are currently famous. A popular summertime hair trend to wear to festivals is the '90s hair trend, space buns is currently experiencing a revival among the fashion elite.

  • Make a middle part in your hair and divide it into two sections.
  • Create a ponytail out of one section and fasten it with an elastic. The ponytail's tail end should be wrapped around the elastic and pinned. Continue with the second section.
  • And then, accessorize. Use glitter, hair stickers, or sparkling barrettes to enhance the appearance.

Power Ponytail

The power pony is an effortless look that still manages to look chic. It can be worn during the day or at night. Whether worn straight or curly, this look looks best on long tresses with a medium to thick density. However, there are ways to fake a fuller ponytail if your hair tends to be thin.

  • Brush all your hair up to the top of your head and tie it tightly with an elastic.
  • By combing through the tops and sides, ensure your hair is flat against your head.
  • You can add length or fullness extensions to your pony to give it more punch.

Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid is a fun braiding pattern that takes some practice to master but adds so much drama.

  • Hair should be parted, gathered to one side, and pulled back low.
  • Make two smaller, equal-sized ponytails from the remaining ends.
  • Pull a half-inch-long section of hair from the outside of one ponytail across the top and to the right.
  • Pull another half-inch section outside the right ponytail across the top and to the left. Repeat on the right side.
  • Then, using an elastic or hair tie, fasten the ends after repeating the previous steps to the bottom.

Summer Hairstyles for Men

There are numerous trendy men's summer haircuts, all short hairstyles that keep you cool and fresh throughout the season. Here are some of the best men's summer hairstyles.

Brush Cut

The hair is clipper-short, high up the sides and back for the brush style. The top has been blow-dried, and it is cut similarly to a flat top except for slightly rounded sides. This is a good option if you have straight hair and a slightly receding hairline.

Flat Top

A flat top is a retro look that gained popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It is arguably one of the most fashionable short styles. It still looks fabulous today and requires the top of the head's hair to stand up straight and shaved into a flat deck.

Ivy League Cut

A tremendous low-maintenance summer cut is the Ivy League haircut. A number 2 blade is used to trim the sides and back of the head, while a long clipper guard is used to trim the top, which gradually gets longer from the crown to the front. To achieve a more formal appearance, the style can also be worn up and to the side.

French Crop

Think of the French Crop as the High-and-trendier Tight's cousin. Although the top is kept slightly shorter, the faded sides are similar. It should be styled forward, and the bangs should be shaved cleanly across the forehead. Request that your barber maintains the top's texture to add dimension. Use a matte clay or light pomade to keep it in place, but avoid anything that will make it look like a shiny helmet.

Shaved

What is the simplest way to keep a hairstyle? Have absolutely no hair! Of course, maintaining a clean-shaven cut is necessary. To keep your scalp safe, you should use sunscreen and get regular touch-ups.

Conclusion

Although we enjoy the challenge of a complicated updo, we prefer to be as cozy and carefree as possible in the summer. For many, summer hairstyles should be both practical and fashionable. That means having looks that will not only withstand high temperatures and humidity but also make you feel and look as cool and fresh as a summer breeze.
