Summertime is an amazing time of year. The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and there are so many fun things to do!

But let’s be honest, summertime can be a real challenge especially if you have a toddler at home. The heat can be unbearable, the days seem to drag on, and it can be tough to find things to keep your little one entertained.

If you’re looking for fun activities to keep your toddler busy this summer, look no further! We've put together a list of some of our favorite activities that are perfect for toddlers. Grab your sunscreen and get ready to have some fun!

Play in the park

One of the best things about summer is that you can finally enjoy some time outdoors! And what better place to do that than at the park? Most parks have playgrounds, which are perfect for toddlers. They can swing, slide, and climb to their heart's content. It's also a great opportunity to let your kid socialize with others.

If your local park doesn't have a playground, there's still plenty of fun to be had. Toddlers love running around in open spaces, so let them explore. They'll also enjoy chasing birds and squirrels, playing in the sand or dirt, and picking flowers. Just keep an eye on them so they don't wander off.

Visit the zoo

Another great summer activity for toddlers is a visit to the zoo. They'll love seeing all the different animals and learning about their habitat.

Of course, you don't have to go to the zoo to see animals. You can also visit a nearby farm or petting zoo with your toddler. Just be sure to wash their hands afterward!

Take a swim

Let your toddler enjoy the summer!

Is there anything more refreshing than a dip in the pool on a hot summer day? Swimming is a great exercise for toddlers and it's also a lot of fun! If you don't have a pool of your own, surely there’ 's a local pool near you that you can use.

You can also take your toddler to the beach or a lake. Don't forget to supervise your toddler at all times and never leave them unattended near water.

Go on a hike

Hiking is another great summer activity that the whole family can enjoy. There are so many beautiful places to explore, and it's a great way to get some exercise. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, and dress your toddler in comfortable shoes.

Visit a museum

Museums are great places to explore and learn about new things. Believe it or not, there are plenty of museums that are perfect for toddlers! Look for ones that have interactive exhibits and kid-friendly tours.

Some of our favorites include the Treehouse Museum, Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum, and KidSpace. These museums are perfect for toddlers who are curious about our natural world. And with GetOutPass, you can visit these places along with other entertainment venues in your local area. Make sure to check it out!

Visit an amusement park

Looking for a way to beat the heat this summer? Why not visit an amusement park? With plenty of rides and attractions to choose from, you can be confident that your toddler will never be bored.

Most parks have water slides and other water-based activities, which are great for cooling off on hot days. See to it that you read the height requirements for each ride before you get in line. That way, you won't waste time waiting in queue for a ride your toddler can't go on.

Join an art class

You don't know, maybe your toddler is the next Picasso or Michelangelo!

Let your toddler express their creativity by enrolling them in an art class! Whether it’s about painting or pottery, art classes are perfect for kids who want to explore their imagination.

Many community centers offer art classes for toddlers and adults. Use this opportunity to bond with your kids and share with them the beauty of art.

Take a trip to the library

The library is a great place to take your toddler during the summer months. They can listen to stories, play with the toys, and explore the books. If you’re lucky, you can also catch some storytime for toddlers when you visit.

Some libraries also offer other activities specifically for toddlers. By participating, you can help them develop a life-long love for books.

Have a picnic

Get your blankets ready and pack some snacks for an afternoon of fun! Picnics are perfect because it’s both fun and easy. It doesn’t matter if you want to prepare complex snacks or just simple sandwiches. What’s important is for your toddler to have fun!

Make some fun crafts

Craft time is always a hit with toddlers! There are so many simple crafting projects that they can make. You probably have most of the supplies already, Remember to guide your toddlers when using sharp objects!

Play some games

Toddlers love to play games, and there are plenty of great ones to enjoy. Some of our favorites include Simon Says, Mother May I?, and Red Light Green Light. You can also invite your neighbor’s kids to join in! There are tons of other great options out there, so get creative and find something your toddler will love.

Have a water fight

Water games are always a hit with toddlers! And there are so many different ways to play. You can have a water balloon toss, squirt gun fight, or even just use the hose to spray each other down.

Plant flowers and vegetables

Share with your toddler the importance of food by letting them help you plant!

Aside from being relaxing, planting flowers and vegetables teaches your toddlers the importance of working with their hands. Plant something that's easy to care for, like sunflowers or tomatoes. Don't forget to remind your toddlers to water the plants every day!

Conclusion

Summertime doesn't have to be boring just because you have a toddler. There are plenty of fun and exciting activities that they can enjoy. Get out there and explore all the great things that summer has to offer!
