Camping is a great way to get away from it all and spend some time outdoors in nature. Whether you're looking for a secluded spot to pitch your tent or want to explore a beautiful national park, Utah has something for everyone.

This state has some of the best camping spots in the country, and if you're looking for a place to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, these are the places to check out. So pack your camping gear and head out to one of these amazing places!

Spruces Campground - Salt Lake City

Let the trees surround you with serenity here at Spruces Campground!

As soon as you pull in, you'll quickly include this place on the list of your favorite campgrounds. The aspens, the trees, and the surrounding nature are all amazing.

Spruces Campground is family-friendly, so you can bring the kids and let them run around. There's even a trail that leads to Donut Falls, an easy 3-mile hike to a waterfall.

Although if you want a more semi-private location, you have to reserve in advance, sometimes months before. But what's amazing about this campground is its gorgeous scenery and amazing wildlife -- watch out for the deers when you visit this place!

Watchman Campground - Springdale

If there's a word that can describe Watchman Campground, it's this: breathtaking. Located next to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center, this campground is available year-round. But if you're in a group, it's recommended to visit this place from March through November.

Unlike other campgrounds, Watchman Campground has a buffer to at least minimize the noise from traffic, so you can definitely enjoy the serenity and peace this place offers. And if you decide to visit in warmer months, make sure to bring lots of water and protection from the heat.

Several trails and amenities are within a short walk, including a general store and a souvenir shop. This is definitely a place you can visit and enjoy the scenery and nature.

Mirror Lake Campground - Kamas

If you want to visit Mirror Lake, this campground is for you. This is such a beautiful location that shouldn't be missed. Around this campground, Mother Nature has provided 5-star views that you won't find anywhere else.

Mirror Lake is a popular spot and a very busy one at that due to its proximity to nearby cities, so be prepared. But the scenery is worth the hassle, and you'll definitely want to return to this place. The campgrounds are well-maintained, and the sites have flat spots for tents and tables.

Tanner's Flat Campground - Sandy

You can rent a yurt to make your stay in Tanner's Flat Campground more enjoyable!

Experience beautiful scenery and make wonderful memories here at Tanner's Flat Campground. Each site on this campground is unique, so you can be sure that you'll find a spot that's right for you.

The sound of the trickling creeks and rushing streams plus the view of the majestic Wasatch Mountains are what make this campground so special. This place also offers rentable yurts. This is a great option for families with children. The camping spots are also perfectly secluded from one another, so you can be sure that your privacy will be respected.

South Fork Campground - Huntsville

If you enjoy tubing, then South Fork Campground is the place for you! Bring your water shoes and enjoy the river -- they even built some retaining walls to provide little wading pools for the kids!

During the summer months, it gets hot pretty easily in this place, but the temp cools down quickly once the evening sets in.

Although there are no hiking opportunities in this campground, there are plenty of activities you can do to enjoy the scenery. You can go tubing, fishing, or just sit in a hammock while reading a book.

Mt. Timpanogos Campground - Provo

Beautiful and quiet -- these are the two words that best describe Mt. Timpanogos Campground. This place is located along the scenic Alpine Loop in the Wasatch Mountains, so there are plenty of opportunities for you to explore and enjoy nature.

Surrounded by pine forest, this place is worth the visit, especially during the summer season. With its amenities such as clean restrooms, picnic tables, and fire pits, you are sure to enjoy your stay here.

Fruita Campground - Torrey

Enjoy the majestic view of the surroundings here at Fruita Campground!

Fruita Campground is an amazing place located inside Capitol Reef National Park. There are plenty of activities you can do here, including apricot-picking, watching some horses, and dipping your feet in the Fremont river nearby. You can also spot some deers snacking a few feet away from you, just minding their own business.

Capital Reef is a dark sky park, so you can clearly view the Milky Way during the night. Add to this the beauty of the surrounding mountains, and your stargazing experience will be the best it can be!

Calf Creek Campground - Boulder

Right between Bryce Canyon National Park and Capitol Reef National Park lies a campground unlike any other -- the Calf Creek Campground. Probably one of the most beautiful campgrounds you'll ever visit, the place is absolutely breathtaking.

Also nearby is the Lower Calf Creek Falls where you can cool off during the summer season. But you have to be early when you visit this place as the campground fills pretty quickly even when off-season. But all in all, this place is worth the visit.
